PUBLIC NOTICE: Fire hydrant removal - Sterling Rd., on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, 7:30am - 5:30pm

The City of Fairmont will be removing an old fire hydrant on Sterling Rd. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 between 7:30am – 5:30pm.. This may affect the water on Bailey Circle, Spruce St., Upland Dr., Greenbrier Rd., Cabin Trail, and the sounding area.

This could possibly discolor the water in the surrounding areas. While work is being performed, there is also a possibility that some customers may experience low pressure, cloudy water, or an interruption of service. IF you experience low water pressure, your water is discolored, or you service is interrupted please follow these instructions:

Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one (1) minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

The City will not be responsible for any damage caused by discolored water.
Customers with no water or those with questions are to call the Fairmont Filtration plant at 304-366-1461 or the Fairmont Utilities Dept. at 304-366-6231.
