PUBLIC NOTICE- Water shut off on Locust from Carleton St to Field St 3/30 8a-4p

The City of Fairmont will be shutting off the water on Locust Avenue between Carleton Street and Field Street to tie in the new water line on Gladden Street on Thursday March 30, 2017 between 8:00am – 4:00pm weather permitting. The surrounding areas may be affected: Center Street, Hawthorn Street, and Floral Avenue

This could possibly discolor the water in the surrounding areas. While work is being performed, there is also a possibility that some customers may experience low pressure, cloudy water, or an interruption of service. If you experience low water pressure, your water is discolored, or you service is interrupted please follow these instructions. Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one (1) minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

The city will not be responsible for any damage caused by discolored water ….
