PUBLIC NOTICE- new hydrant installation Nov 7 8am-6pm for McCoy St between Locust Ave & Watson Ave

The City of Fairmont will be installing a new fire hydrant on McCoy Street, between Locust Avenue, and Watson Avenue, on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 between 8:00am – 6:00pm. This may affect the water in the sounding area.

This could possibly discolor the water in the surrounding areas. While work is being performed, there is also a possibility that some customers may experience low pressure, cloudy water, or an interruption of service. If you experience low water pressure, your water is discolored, or you service is interrupted please follow these instructions. Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one (1) minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

The city will not be responsible for any damage caused by discolored water ….
