City of Fairmont Area Recreation

The City of Fairmont and Marion County offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities for the entire family. From whitewater rafting to outdoor historical drama to simply enjoying the view from our beautiful rail trial, Fairmont - Marion County welcomes you!

Rail Trail Information

There are currently two trails in the city limits of Fairmont: MCTRAIL on the East Side and West Fork River Trail on the West Side. Download a Trail Map Here [PDF]

In 2021, the City of Fairmont clearly established a cross-town connection to the West Fork River Trail from Downtown with the installation of sharrows and wayfinding signage.
