[ARCHIVED] Accessory Dwelling Unit Survey Input

ADU

PUBLIC SURVEY: The Planning and Development Department is seeking input from Fairmont citizens about accessory dwelling units, also known as backyard cottages, garage apartments, granny flats, and in-law suites. ADUs are a potential housing solution listed within the City’s adopted comprehensive plan to help diversify housing options for a broader range of citizens such as younger workforce or aging citizens wanting more accessible and smaller homes.
This survey aims to gage your interest on how you’d like to see ADUs regulated, from where and how they should be permitted, what types should be considered, to how large they can be. Please fill out this survey to leave feedback concerning how you think ADUs should be regulated within the City of Fairmont and encourage your neighbors to do so as well. We want to hear from as many citizens as we can. Responses are anonymous and the survey results shall be shared with City Council, Planning Commission, and the general public.
